Lisa Spaull is an Independent Dance Artist and Vertical Dancer based in North Wales.
Lisa graduated from Chichester University with a BA(hons) Degree in Dance in 2001, and since then has been delivering dance projects to all ages and abilities in various settings.
Lisa has been the recipient of a number of Arts Council of Wales grants to create her own work as well as Training and Research projects. Between 2014-2018 she co-directed Little Light Dance and Digital Theatre CIC, managing small and large project grants, collaborating with various artists, creating and touring work across Wales. In 2018 the company was nominated for Best Children’s Show and Lisa was nominated for Best Choreographer by the Welsh Theatre Awards.
Lisa has received numerous commissions from Dawns-i-Bawb, New Dance, Bangor Sound City, Blinc Digital, Dance Shorts, Venue Cymru and People Dancing.
Lisa has collaborated on short dance films with Rob Spaull/Mediapod. Their films have been shown at film festivals in Burgandy, France, Vo’Arte Film Festival in Lisbon, Portugal and with Migrations touring film programme across Wales.
Between 2014-2016 Lisa taught Creative Movement for trainee actors at the Hijinx Academy and from 2004-2014 taught dance in primary schools across Conwy County for Conwy Arts Services including mentoring teachers for the Creative Dance Festivals.
Since 2011 Lisa began working for Vertical Dance Kate Lawrence and has been a company performer and teacher in North Wales and abroad in Canada, Bali, Greenland, France and most recently Japan.
Between 2013-2015 Lisa worked as a vertical dancer for Everybody Dance touring and teaching across the UK, France and Germany.
In 2022 Lisa worked as a vertical dancer for AnyStage Productions for the Opening of Battersea Power Station London.
