In collaboration with Rob Spaull we are in process of devising a new production “Alice’s Wonderland Tours” for 2014/15.  This will be a 45 minute show aimed at families performed in a 360 degree cylindrical space with projected virtual environments of Wonderland.  The show will be based on some of the characters from the well-known book ‘Alice in Wonderland’ but with a contemporary twist.

The project is being co-produced with Venue Cymru and with support from Creu Cymru.  We are still in process of securing funds from elsewhere to fulfill its development.

We started the process in April 2013 with a Research and Development grant from Arts Council of Wales and support from Cwmni’r Fran Wen.  The R&D focused on developing the overall concept, characters and choreographic ideas of the Tea Party section and ideas for the digital environment.

Below is an extract of some footage.

Performers are Lisa Spaull, Daniel Baird and Claire Tranmer.  With Direction from Kate Lawrence.

Rob completed a Research and Development Grant from ACW with support from Cwmni’r Fran Wen last year, looking into techinical solutions for the rig, and the digital landscape he’ll be creating.  He is working with concept artist Collette Ellis in the development of the virtual characters and experimenting with interactive elements within the technology.
